Napkins: a simple way to dress up a place setting

Are these cute or what? Well, maybe minus the green twig. But you can use any color napkin with whatever theme, and the ties give just plain, old napkins a bit of flair. You could even tie name tags to the napkins for place settings!

The last time we had a more formal dinner, I didn't use cloth napkins but nice paper ones, and I tied raffia around them. The white napkin with a cute tie stepped up the informality of the paper and added a nice look to the table, without that added work of washing and ironing napkins.

And who knows? With the right theme, maybe you would want to place some fresh twigs at the table. Perhaps your guests can use them as a toothpicks!
